The Valentine II coin is the next in a series of exclusive Tank Museum collectable coins. This special coin features the Valentine II tank and is fifth out of six limited edition coins in Series 1.
No other tank bears such an unwarlike name as The Valentine. But despite its somewhat ironic nomenclature, the Valentine Infantry Tank was an inspired, if not risky, development which bore fruit just when the Army needed it most.
The Valentine would become the most produced British tank of World War II, even exceeding the production run of the successful Churchill tank.
By the end of World War Two, Valentines had disappeared from the British Army, but they remained in service with the New Zealand Army until the 1960s.
The first series will encompass tanks in the Museum's collection dating from 1939 - 1945 and the first tank in the collection is our world-famous Sherman tank as used in the film "Fury", available HERE. The second coin in our collection is a Churchill AVRE to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day HERE. The third tank is the infamous Tiger 131 HERE. The fourth coin in the series is the Matilda II found HERE.
The coins will be strictly limited to 500 each, and are individually numbered so you will need to be quick!
